Expertise

Ashley Ahn is a senior trial consultant expert based out of our New York office. She advises our East Coast clients who are involved in patent litigation related to pharmaceutical, biological, or technical matters. 

To date, she has been a senior consultant on over 30 patent cases heard in courts throughout the country, including in the International Trade Commission in Washington, DC. Clients rely on Ashley to take complex facts and create compelling visual displays that help expert witnesses deliver impactful testimonies. They are regularly impressed by her ability to remain cool-headed and focused in the face of tight deadlines and during high-stress war room situations.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys working on her own creative writing and filmmaking pursuits.

  • Ashley has provided expert demonstrative services for numerous high-profile matters, including the first complex auditing case in which a jury found a major accounting firm responsible for the loss of investor funds during the Madoff period. 
  • Recently, she was a lead consultant on the matter IBM Corp. v. Groupon, Inc., helping to create a series of graphics, animations, and videos that enabled IBM’s experts to explain the company patents to jurors. The jury found Groupon had willfully infringed on all four of IBM’s e-commerce patents, resulting in IBM’s $82.5 million victory.
  • In addition to her trial work, Ashley serves on the IMS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) Committee. 
  • She also volunteers as a court-appointed special advocate for youth for the organization CASA-NYC.
  • Ashley is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she studied filmmaking, film theory, and philosophy. 
  • She went on to earn her MFA from Parson’s Design and Technology program, where her studies centered on emerging technologies and their impact on narrative design and storytelling.
