With two decades of HR experience, Michelle Sherman SPHR, SHRM-SCP is committed to empowering her people to drive business success. As Vice President of Human Resources at IMS Legal Strategies, Michelle is a valuable business partner to senior management, focusing on enhancing employee experiences to achieve excellent client results. During her first year with the firm, she led the successful rollout of an HR Business Partner model, as well as created a new employee handbook that significantly increased compliance, enhanced transparency, and improved communication during key processes.
Michelle held numerous senior-level HR positions prior to joining IMS. She played a critical role in a previous company’s business model transition from consulting to a SaaS, which involved several reorganizations, rebranding, process improvement, and a culture shift. Her experience includes overseeing core HR department functions such as recruiting and selection, onboarding, orientation, benefits management, performance management, employee relations, and employee engagement. In addition, she is skilled at developing, marketing, and supporting HRIS functionality while providing strategic consulting to clients across various HR domains.
Michelle’s greatest career accomplishments are centered around the career development of fellow HR professionals, as she takes great pride in driving their advancement and success. She promotes honest and genuine communication, inclusivity, and an open environment where individuals feel safe sharing their thoughts and opinions. She is an active member of several industry associations, including Society for Human Resource Management and Mississippi State Alumni Association. Moreover, she has been invited to speak at numerous national conferences, podcasts, seminars, and workshops throughout her career.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University and received both SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications. She lives in Fulton, MS, with her husband, daughter, and son. She is a huge MSU fan and enjoys golfing, crafting, and supporting her children at the baseball and soccer fields.
