Keith Botner, MBA, PhD, is Senior Vice President of Litigation Surveys and Consumer Science at IMS Legal Strategies. He also serves as a testifying expert, leveraging his expertise in litigation surveys, consumer behavior, and marketing analytics.
Dr. Botner holds a PhD from the University of Utah and an MBA in Marketing from Michigan State University. With decades of marketing experience, he has uniquely blended roles as both a practitioner and academic. He has taught marketing and advertising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and his research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of Consumer Research.
Dr. Botner also held significant consumer marketing roles at Fortune 500 companies in the consumer product, pharmaceutical, and retail industries. Additionally, his research on litigation surveys has been featured in the Trademark Reporter, a renowned publication in the field of trademarks, brands, and intellectual property.
Dr. Botner has been retained as an expert witness in dozens of litigation matters across multiple venues, providing affirmative survey reports, marketing declarations, and rebuttal reports. He has testified at trial and deposition before numerous US District Courts and the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Dr. Botner lives in Santa Monica with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys decompressing with family, cycling, running, and swimming.
