For nearly two decades, Bret Eltiste, Senior Technology Consultant II, has been providing legal technology services—including exhibit presentation, management, editing, and graphics services—for some of the nation’s highest-profile trials. In 2021, he was an integral member of the prosecution team in State of Minnesota v. Derek Chauvin. He has worked on numerous high-stakes cases, including US v. BP Exploration & Production (Deepwater Horizon) and Epic Games v. Apple.
Bret’s proficiency at providing technological services extends outside the courtroom to include virtual proceedings. In fact, he led the technology sourcing and Zoom integration for some of the first hybrid trials that took place in 2020. To do so, he brought to bear his decades of audio-visual integration and instructional technology training, and his level of knowledge enabled him to create virtual trial platforms that were as effective as in-person trials. To date, both in person and online, Bret has played a vital role in more than 100 large trials and over 200 hearings, arbitrations, mock trials, and legal matters.
Bret is accustomed to working under pressure and handling copious amounts of evidence, and he consistently creates effective presentations. When he is not at work, he relaxes by playing golf and spending time at his cabin in the woods. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and an avid Ole Miss football fan.
