The Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA) holds its 2026 Annual Meeting October 21–23 in Roanoke, VA. The three-day program brings together civil defense attorneys from across the Commonwealth for CLE sessions, bench-bar networking, and the association's annual awards.
Thursday's program opens with a General Assembly briefing, followed by a session on the new Rule 3:8 and its effort to curb serial pleadings-stage motions. Next, "Frequent Flyers: Handling Recurring Expert Witnesses and Objections to IMEs" addresses a common challenge for defense counsel in personal injury and medical cases. Friday turns to trial readiness and case evaluation, with sessions on preparing for the unexpected at deposition and trial, evaluating and discussing case value, avoiding pitfalls in the appellate courts, and understanding the attorney disciplinary system.
