Trudy Horsting, MA, PhD

Senior Research Manager, Litigation Surveys and Consumer Science

Trudy Horsting, MA, PhD, is a Senior Research Manager of Litigation Surveys and Consumer Science at IMS. She has extensive experience in survey design, interviewing, analysis, and reporting for a variety of social science applications. Dr. Horsting is skilled in designing and facilitating surveys, focus groups, and experiments in a social science laboratory. As a political scientist, her research has focused on media in politics, public opinion, and the role of political discourse on social media in shaping political behavior.

Before joining IMS, Dr. Horsting managed a team at Dosii, where she facilitated research, data collection, and the production of informational content. She is also an experienced writer, having contributed to various websites, blogs, newsletters, and magazines.

Dr. Horsting completed a PhD and master's degree in political science from Arizona State University. She also holds a bachelor's degree in political science and writing, rhetoric, and technical communication from James Madison University. Her work has been published in journals such as American Politics Research, the Journal of Political Marketing, the European Journal of Politics and Gender, and the American Behavioral Scientist. She also contributed book chapters to Edward Elgar Publishers and Palgrave Macmillan.

Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Horsting traded the shade of trees for the desert sunshine. She now lives in Arizona with her husband and daughter.
