02.02.22

IMS Consulting & Expert Services | Litigation Insights is proud to support the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and its many conferences and events. Members of the IMS Jury Consulting team will share their insights at two upcoming DRI events in Las Vegas, NV.

The DRI Product Liability Conference will be held in person at Caesars Palace on February 2-4, 2022. This seminar will focus on product liability challenges in the face of an ever-changing landscape. Attend top-notch programming, stemming from collaboration with DRI’s 18 Specialized Litigation Groups. Educational topics range from how Right-to-Repair legislation is impacting product safety to a jury’s mindset after the past two years.

IMS Jury Consulting & Strategy Advisor Dr. Christina Marinakis will present on the panel “Juries in a (Post) Pandemic World“ on Wednesday, February 2 from 1 pm – 3 pm PST.

The DRI Litigation Skills Seminar will take place simultaneously at Planet Hollywood Hotel. This seminar provides critical and compelling content regarding reducing the stress of trials, preparing witnesses, weaving storytelling and technology into trial, and what to do when verdicts go nuclear. This year will also include joint sessions and cross-networking events with DRI’s Medical Liability and Health Care Law Seminar. Networking events include a Women in the Law Luncheon, a Young Lawyers-sponsored gathering, and a community service project featuring Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

IMS Jury Consultant Nick Polavin, PhD will present “Is Your Case a Candidate for a Nuclear Verdict?” on Thursday, February 3 from 8:15 am – 9:15 am PST. This discussion will cover the psychological, case-specific, and narrative framing factors associated with nuclear verdicts. Learn what common themes to look for when determining whether your case is a candidate for a nuclear verdict, and what you can do to mitigate that risk.
