Mauricio Vidaurre, Vice President of Analytics at IMS, leads a team of research associates, junior research analysts, and programmers to perform research and quantitative analysis in finance, economics, and statistics.
Mauricio has 14 years of litigation consulting experience. He combines his background in finance with years of practical expertise in statistics and data analysis to deliver detailed analysis supporting opinions of liability or damages calculations. Mauricio has coordinated and drafted over 50 affirmative reports, rebuttal reports, and rebuttal responses and contributed to more than 100 reports.
He has supported litigation projects involving hundreds of mortgage-backed securities. In those cases, Mauricio assisted in the selection of samples of loans and extrapolations of findings, performed reviews of credit / compliance and valuation due diligence performed by banks, and assessed the performance of loans. He has also provided consulting support in cases involving predatory and discriminatory lending and servicing against large institutions, overdraft fees, and investments in mutual funds. Outside the work that Mauricio has performed in litigation, he has analyzed portfolios of tax and payday loans for the financial industry.
In addition, Mauricio has helped assess liability or compute damages in a variety of engagements and industries beyond the realms of banking and finance. Those engagements include cases in intellectual property, toxic tort, breach of contract, disparate impact, data breach, deceptive sales, ERISA, antitrust, and construction defects.
Mauricio studied at St. Mary's University, where he specialized in Corporate Finance, Marketing, and International Business. He then earned a graduate degree in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
