Otolaryngologists use surgical procedures to treat:
- Ear: balance disorders, cranial and facial nerve disorders, ear infections, ear noise, hearing loss, and nerve pain
- Head and Neck: benign and malignant tumors, deformities of the face, and facial trauma
- Nose: diagnose, manage, and treat allergies, polyps, and nasal obstruction caused by a deviated septum; can also correct the appearance of the nose with rhinoplasty surgery
- Throat: larynx and the upper acro-digestive tract/esophagus
