As integral members of this process, Jeff Levin, JD, and Joshua Hill “Honor the Relationship” with clients and offer “Ownership Thinking” to exceed their requirements. Read on to learn what Jeff and Joshua enjoy most about their work, the value of IMS, and their thoughts on industry trends.

Jeff Levin, JD, Senior Client Solutions Manager

Q: How did you get into this industry?

A: During law school at the University of Oklahoma, I had an opportunity to learn about litigation consulting and work part-time in the industry as a researcher. After practicing law for several years, I took on a full-time litigation consultant role and never looked back.

Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role?

A: I enjoy solving problems for clients during the most significant moments of their careers. These problem-solving skills are put to the test daily, as I get to work with numerous attorneys all over the world on a diverse array of case types. Identifying client challenges and matching them with the best solution affords a unique thrill. Every day is exciting, and each case presents a new challenge. I cherish the opportunity to build relationships with people internally and externally.

Q: What internal accomplishment are you most proud of?

A: I enjoy consistently being able to provide solutions to clients and colleagues. This might mean matching a client with a service they did not originally intend or uncovering a new way to present complex material at an arbitration. The thrill of uncovering the best way to communicate a complex story is palpable, be it through graphics, jury consulting, or courtroom technology.

Q: Are there any stories/memories you’d like to share?

A: Each case presents its own unique set of incredible experiences, but some stand out more than others. I vividly remember one case where we created a physical 3D model for a client to use during an international arbitration in Europe. The project required tremendous effort in a compressed timeframe, a printing malfunction, and challenges in shipping and clearing customs, but the model was ultimately completed in a timely manner and was successful in assisting the client’s story in front of the arbitration tribunal.

Q: What do you think sets IMS apart from competitors or other companies?

A: Attention to detail and an unmatched level of service ultimately set IMS apart. Our clients are treated superbly in every case, no matter the size. We will provide the best consultative support on every case and develop the most effective approach to meet the client’s needs – be it settlement or final verdict at trial.

Q: How do the IMS core values align with your own?

A: “Honoring the Relationship” is at the core of what I do, both for my clients and colleagues. Success at trial or arbitration begins with great relationships and a keen ability to work with a diverse array of people and interests. IMS upholds this core value above all else.

Q: If you were an attorney-client, what would you find most valuable about the process at IMS?

A: IMS places the client’s story and goals front and center. This ensures that the work we do ultimately furthers the client’s end goals. This might mean offering recommendations on a new way to visualize an argument or considering jury research when these ideas were not originally contemplated by the client. We offer more than simply executing tasks. With more than 30 years of experience in the field, we have studied and researched the way arguments are received by jurors, judges, and arbitrators, and we are able to apply our knowledge to your case.

Q: Do you have any predictions or comments on industry trends?

A: Jurors continue to change in the ways they receive, evaluate, and process information. The rise of “safetyism” and “conspiracies” amongst juror pools requires new ways to prepare for cases. These trends are likely to continue and evolve as the flow of information through our society continues to be fractured. This trend does not stop with jurors, it also extends to the way judges and arbitrators process information.

Joshua Hill, Client Relationship Manager

Q: How/why did you get into this industry?

A: I was in school for criminal justice and was not quite sure what I wanted to do when I finished. A family friend who works at IMS invited me to see what the company was all about. When I learned more, I knew this was what I wanted to do.

Q: What do you like most about your specific department and/or role?

A: What I enjoy most about my role as a client relationship manager is that I am expanding my skills with every project I complete. Each case I work on provides a new opportunity to deepen my knowledge about the industry. Even in the most common cases, there is something new to discover and broaden my scope of expertise.

Q: What internal accomplishment are you most proud of?

A: Any accomplishments I have are in large part due to the team around me. My success does not come without great mentors, leaders, and teammates who help me to be successful. I believe the best accomplishment I could ever achieve is to support my team and new rising stars, the way others have supported me.

Q: Are there any stories/memories you’d like to share?

A: I have been here for five years, which may not seem very long in the grand scheme of things, but there are too many memories to count.

Q: What do you think sets IMS apart from competitors or other companies?

A: The culture is what sets IMS apart from other companies. IMS has built a culture of respect, integrity, and excellence, and each member of our team does their best to uphold it. I am honored to work with the IMS-ers on my team, and I am exceptionally proud to be a part of it.

Q: How do the IMS core values align with your own?

A: I am a big believer in treating others the way you want to be treated and I think that IMS does that. “Honoring the Relationship,” “Quality & Excellence,” “Humble Confidence,” and “Operating as One” are the best ways for us to treat our clients the way I would want to be treated if I were in their position.

Q: If you were an attorney-client, what would you find most valuable about the process at IMS?

A: If I were an attorney-client, I would find the most valuable part of IMS to be the fact that we stay with you through the life cycle of your case. Anyone can provide the name of an expert, but the fact that we can not only find niche expertise but also help you manage the relationship throughout the life of the case is invaluable.

Q: Do you have any predictions or comments on industry trends?

A: Keep your eye on artificial intelligence. I think we are going to see a major swing in AI-related cases over the next few years.

Q: What has been your favorite case to work on so far?

A: It is hard to pick a favorite, but any time I can help my clients achieve a win, it feels like Christmas morning.
